Kara Kurcz used her innovative idea, trendy style and a splash of
spirituality to create Solas Fashions. She was inspired to create
light-up handbags one evening when, like many of us, she couldn't find
her keys in the abyss of her handbag. She did not want just a light-up
handbag, she wanted fashion to inspire women. Incorporating
spirituality into her design, she drew on the feel-good power of
color. She knew color could inspire your whole day, and to convey that
philosophy she put an uplifting message about the color in every purse
and created a brooch that reminds us to be thankful for the simple
things in life. Finally, she chose the Gaelic word Solas, meaning
"light", for the name of the company.
